Talent Board has pioneered the movement around improving the candidate experience. As we bring our seventh year to a conclusion, I am blown away by the level of engagement with corporations and Talent Acquisition professionals in the mission to improve the quality of candidate experience from job discovery to application to onboarding.

In less than two weeks on Monday, October 2nd, we will hold our 7th annual CandE Awards in Nashville, TN at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center.

We are excited to be holding our own stand alone full day event this year with some excellent workshops for attendees to collaborate with each other to raise the bar on their recruiting processes and create a world class candidate experience.

1. Hands On Workshops

The morning will be dedicated to delivering a set of hands on workshops that will help you develop a strategy and business case to invest in the candidate experience.

I will personally be delivering a workshop at 10:30 am, “Mapping the Candidate Journey.” It’s all about taking page from consumer marketing and applying it to recruiting. In this session you will participate in exercises to define your candidate persona and visualize their journey by mapping every touch point and action along the stages of the Talent Lifecycle. We will provide you with practical tools to facilitate a Candidate Experience Design methodology within your own organizations.

2. Keynote Speaker Shannon Miller

Winner of seven Olympic medals, recipient of a law degree from Boston College, and a successful entrepreneur for her lifestyle brand, Shannon is a force to be reckoned with.

She was one of the “Magnificent 7” in the 1996 Olympics and has been featured on The TODAY Show and Fox and Friends.

Shannon will be speaking about what’s she’s taken away from her career as an Olympic gymnast and the lessons from starting her own business and how they apply to the employee and candidate experience.

You’ll also have a chance to get a photo opp. with her at the end of her session, so don’t run off anywhere.

3. CandE Awards Gala

Starting at 6pm, we’ll get together for dinner and networking. This is our chance to honor the 2017 winners, share their stories and hand out the trophies. But don’t go home after dinner, all this success means we have to celebrate. There will be an after party and drinks, so come ready to have a good time.
