Phenom People Recognized as a 2019 Best Small Workplaces by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE

We are excited to announce that we were named one of the 2019 Best Small Workplaces and ranked No. 8 by Great Place to Work® and FORTUNE. This win comes straight from employee feedback that evaluates how Phenom cultivates a great work environment for all employees. Great Place to Work analyzed survey feedback from over 189,000 anonymous responders working in small- and medium-sized companies to create this list of 50 companies.

So what does it take to be a great place to work? Check out these three initiatives we implemented this past year to put our employees at the forefront of our business.

1. Reinventing Phenom’s Onboarding

This August, we had the pleasure of celebrating one year of our new onboarding experience that we call “Phenom Phundamentals.” This immersive 3-day training has transformed the way our new employees are welcomed into the Phenom family. Each new employee, no matter what department or level of seniority, has the opportunity to learn from each department head, as well as get in-depth training about the product. Each day brings new games, team-building exercises, and exciting ways to introduce our #NotNormal culture to the new employees.

At the end of Phundamentals, each new employee is prompted to complete a form asking about their overall thoughts on their onboarding experience. Over 100 new Phenom People employees have gone through Phundamentals and 100% have reported that they would recommend Phenom People to a friend.

2. Celebrating the Success of our Phenomenal Employees

In 2019, we took our employees out of the office to celebrate all the successes that had happened over the past year. First, to kick off the start of a great year, all our Phenoms headed to Philadelphia to recap 2018 and cheer on the Sixers. Xfinity Live was the perfect venue to help us celebrate all our previous successes while looking forward to what was to come in 2019. And, the Philadelphia Sixers game was the perfect place to hang out with our fellow colleagues and cheer on a Philly favorite.

Additionally, we celebrated our employees by inviting them and their families to a sweet day at Hershey Park! Not only did we get free entrance to the park, but we also enjoyed a complimentary picnic. This event was a great way to get everyone together and hang out as an entire “Phenom Phamily.”

3. Expanding Phenom’s Benefits

From unlimited paid time off to free food in the office, there is no shortage of fun perks that comes with being a Phenom employee. But, as we evolve into a larger company, we always take employee feedback into consideration. A majority of our office came into 2019 wanting more benefits surrounding student loans, wellness, and moving expenses. After analyzing these survey results, our HR department implemented a student loans advisory program, a nutritionist free of charge through our health benefits, and a program for first-time homebuyers. We will see what 2020 brings!
