What did you do this summer? Did you drive cross country with your friends, go to the beach every weekend with your family, dabble in a summer class? Or did you choose to sit around and do nothing?

Well, this group of eight students chose to spend their summer interning with Phenom People! These diverse individuals from different majors, skill sets, and interests came to Phenom with no idea what was in store. It turned out to be an amazing summer filled with personal and professional growth, knowledge of their field of study, and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Why You Should Intern at Phenom People

Ever heard horror stories about interns only bringing people coffee or scanning documents for an entire summer? Well, Phenom People does the opposite. Interns are a part of projects that have an impact on the company. This summer’s interns participated in projects surrounding market research, analytics, machine learning, Salesforce, product implementation and many other initiatives.

The opportunity to intern at Phenom People means you get your feet wet in the industry that you hope to go into post graduation. It allows you to see all facets of the department that you are in and how members of the team collaborate with other departments. You can also see if there's another field you could dabble in while you are here, and you are welcomed the opportunity to explore it for yourself.

One of the best things that can come out of your Phenom internship is the opportunity to network. There are so many different people from a wide variety of backgrounds and work experiences. Current Phenoms want to help you advance in your career post internship—they want to see you succeed. They will help you create portfolios of your work, update your resume, and write LinkedIn recommendations on your behalf.

All Work and No Play? Not at Phenom!

In addition to being contributing members of our teams, we did a lot of other fun things throughout the summer. We started the summer with Walk for Wags, where fellow employees brought their dogs in for a fun afternoon with their pooch. In the middle of the summer, we hosted an intern ping pong tournament, where all eight of us fought for the coveted first place spot. Evan Kortick took the gold home!

We wrapped the summer with our philanthropy event: a coloring book drive benefiting the Wissahickon Valley Boys & Girls Club, where we went one morning to deliver the supplies and read to the kids. Our last parting gift was a funny video that highlighted the things we accomplished this summer.
